Top 3 Sweets That Belong on Your Eid Table

Eid is more than a festival—it’s a feast of faith, family, and flavour. And no celebration is truly complete without desserts that carry the warmth of tradition. At Tunday Kababi Dubai, we honour this sentiment by offering time-honoured sweets that are as nostalgic as they are indulgent.

Whether you’re ending a day of feasting or welcoming guests with something sweet, these three favourites promise to add joy, fragrance, and richness to your Eid table.

Sheer Khurma – The Star of Eid Mornings

This vermicelli-based milk dessert is synonymous with Eid, especially among South Asian families. At Tunday, we make it the traditional way—slow-cooked full-cream milk reduced to a rich consistency, then infused with roasted seviyan (vermicelli), chopped dates, cardamom, saffron, and a generous helping of ghee-roasted nuts.

The aroma of Sheer Khurma fills our kitchen with memories. It’s slightly warm, lightly sweet, and full of texture—from the soft vermicelli to the crunch of almonds and pistachios. Served in small bowls or sipped from a glass, it’s the kind of dessert that wraps you in a hug.

Shahi Tukda – Royalty on a Plate

When you want your Eid dessert to feel indulgent, look no further than Shahi Tukda. Born in the Mughal kitchens, this sweet is essentially deep-fried bread soaked in cardamom syrup and topped with thickened milk (rabri) and slivered nuts.

At Tunday, we use saffron-infused milk and a slow drizzle of rose water for an aroma that lingers. The bread stays crisp on the outside while the syrup and rabri soak through, creating a bite that’s soft, crunchy, floral, and creamy all at once.

This is dessert for the grand finale of your Eid feast—bold, aromatic, and meant to be shared.

Phirni – Cool, Creamy, and Comforting

For a cooler, subtler sweet note, Phirni never fails. Served chilled in clay bowls, our Phirni is made from ground rice slow-cooked in milk until velvety. We flavour it with rose, cardamom, and a pinch of saffron, and finish it with crushed pistachios.

The texture is smoother than kheer, and the serving size—small and individual—makes it ideal for post-feast enjoyment. Light but deeply satisfying, Phirni is the perfect counterpoint to a spice-heavy Eid menu.

Many of our regulars even pre-order it for their Eid gatherings, knowing it adds that elegant, cooling touch to the celebration.
